Following their Gaye Holud the next day, Farah & Ryan’s wedding extravaganza took place at the iconic Paramount Theater, Convention Hall, and Grand Arcade in Asbury Park. The new Mr. & Mrs. Skow are the second people EVER to wed in the venue, so nonetheless everything had to be fabulous! 

The Asbury Park Boardwalk has always meant more than just Bruce Springsteen and Tillie to the new Mr. and Mrs. Skow. A few years after first meeting at the bar Boathouse in Belmar, the couple moved into an apartment less than five minutes walking distance from the beach. Ryan proposed on that boardwalk, and today the couple frequents it often. It was only fitting that we spend the afternoon shooting Farah and Ryan in some of their favorite places around it – The Stone Pony, Asbury Lanes, the Carousel building and more!

As for the wedding, the couple chose a 1920’s, Great Gatsby theme to complement their historic location, blended in with classical wedding decorations and hints of Farah’s Bangladeshi culture. We loved seeing our engagement pictures of the couple blown up into movie posters, plastered both out and inside the venue! Farah walked down the aisle (to the famous Fight Club ballad, “Where is My Mind” by The Pixies!) of Paramount Theater along with her bridal party to greet Ryan and his groomsmen on top of the stage. After their good friend Sergei officiated their nuptials, Ryan kissed his bride and the dramatic burgundy curtain that was hiding the stage rose to reveal a new set. Hanging window panes, flowers and antique props designed by Faye & Renée Floral & Event Design lined the stage and Farah and Ryan had their traditional Bangladeshi ceremony.

Next, guests were ushered through a foggy, drapery lined walkway in order to enter into Convention Hall, which was transformed into a 1920’s speakeasy. Cocktail hour featured the local Jersey Shore band Quincy Mumford and the Reason Why, as well as many decadent hors d’oeuvres from Branches Catering. After cocktail hour, guests were escorted into Grand Arcade for the reception. SCE Event Group lit up the room in a beautiful purple glow. Faye & Renée had created 6 ft tall gold trees with hanging votives as the focal point for the round tables and gold arbor branches with hanging candles that hovered over the rectangular ones. The event was fully planned by our friends at SociaLife. We were able to work with so many wonderful vendors including Art Paper Scissors who design the invitations, movie posters and the rest of the stationary. We also worked with Signature Productions for video, and DJ Jason Jani who kept the party rocking until late in the night. After the wedding, Farah and her guests ended the evening at Silverball Museum Arcade for their Jersey Shore style after party. 

Farah & Ryan’s wedding truly was a one to remember and will no doubt go down in Asbury Park boardwalk history. We had such a wonderful evening and wish them nothing but love and happiness!
