Christine and Billy | Point Pleasant
I do not think anyone would disagree with us when we say that this past winter felt never-ending! Luckily, the chill started to melt under the shining sun and flowers started to bloom from their buds just in time for Christine and Billy’s April 21st Clarks Landing Yacht Club wedding.
The Big Day
It was a great feeling getting to leave some of our winter gear at home as we headed out to sunny Seaside Park to start our day with the couple. If the sun didn’t make you feel like warmer weather was on its way then the gorgeous beach house of Christine’s parents will definitely put you in the summer feeling. The stunning home was beautifully designed to invoke the carefree nature of a beach holiday. Seashells, starfish, and mermaids were all around and fresh light beamed in from the many open and airy windows. Normally we do not have many options as to where we can shoot bridal portraits and details but this home was an absolute dream!
The Bride
Meet Christine, a natural beauty whose easy-going demeanor made her a delight to work with! With a big smile and positive energy taking photos of her was a breeze. Christine is a lover of the beach, the color purple, and most importantly, mermaids.
We loved these moments with Christine’s parents. Cannot get over the way they both look at her with such love and pride!
That moment when the veil goes on and you really feel like a bride.
The Groom
Meet Billy, our groom. Billy shares the same go with the flow attitude as his bride, which makes them a perfect couple. Billy is an awesome guy with a warm heart. Another thing about him and his bride share is their love for the beach. Billy is a surfer and they both wanted to pull beachy elements into their big day. Billy got ready next door in the couple’s own home with his groomsmen.
First Look
Christine and Billy first laid eyes on each other when they worked together at Bum Rodger Crabhouse in Seaside Park. On their wedding day, their first look was at Christine’s Parent’s beach house, also in Seaside Park.
Wedding Photography
After their first look, we decided to soak up the sun outside Monmouth University for pictures. Monmouth University’s Wilson Hall is a popular spot for wedding photography but often overlooked in their equally stunning Library. The large white pillars, arches, and grand staircase radiate elegance. When describing her wedding vision Christine wrote that she wanted it to be elegant and sophisticated, and Monmouth’s library definitely delivered.
We absolutely love the way the white paired with the light purple of Christine’s bouquet and the bridesmaid’s dresses.
After some fun with the bridal party, it was time to work with just the bride and groom. They were absolute naturals in front of the camera. Just look at these gorgeous portraits!
Looking like royalty Christine and Billy rocked their portraits and we were even able to capture a bit of the elusive cherry blossom blooms!
Love Christine’s big candid smile, her happiness is contageous!
Christine and Billy chose the perfect venue to match their wedding vision, Clarks Landing Yacht Club. This fabulous venue combines elegance and sophistication with the beachy elements the couple love. Once we got to Clarks Landing we quickly grabbed a few fun shots in front of the venue and then made use of their grand foyer for family photos.
We then headed outside for more pictures of the bridal party and couple with a waterfront feel.
So much of Christine and Billy’s relationship revolves around the ocean so we just had to take advantage of the sandy beach at Clarks Landing.
How He Asked
Billy proposed to Christine on a summer night after having dinner in Point Pleasant. The couple then headed back Billy’s home in Seaside Park. Billy asked Christine if she wanted to go to beach and light a Chinese lantern, something she had told him previously that she has always wanted to do. They attempted to light the lantern but it was not as easy as it looks! Christine says it probably took them 15 minutes to light it. Once they did, the wind pushed the side of it into the flame and burnt a huge hole in the lantern. Feeling defeated, they let go of the lantern and it headed straight for the ocean.
Before it reached the water, it miraculously flew up into the air and headed towards the sky. As they were leaving the beach Billy asked Christine what she had wished for when they let go of the lantern, and she told him she couldn’t tell him or it would not come true. Billy responded, “Well I hope my wish comes true. Will you marry me?” and got down on one knee. Overwhelmed with emotions and joy Christine said the magic words, “Yes!” And the rest is history.
The Ceremony
Although the sun was shining and Spring was starting to bloom the air still had a bit of a chill so the wedding took place indoors. Clarks Landing provided an incredible ceremony for the couple; Christine and Billy said their I do’s overlooking the glistening Manasquan River. In keeping with the couples love of the beach, they decided to incorporate it into their I do’s with a sand ceremony; the mixing together of two different vials of sands so they become one.
Christine loves mermaids, so of course, they made an appearance at their reception!
After the sweet ceremony, the guests headed down to the River Room for cocktail hour and we planned on taking Billy and Christine outside for a quick sunset shot. The entire day was sunny but it now looked like clouds had come in and were blocking most of the suns colors. We were unsure if there was going to be much to photograph but we decided to try it anyway- and boy are we glad we did! Immediately upon walking outside, we were hit with the most beautiful colors. The photos looked stunning and romantic! Some of our favorites!
The Reception
After the sunset, it was time to party! Billy and Christine had hired Jay Jani of SCE Event Group so we knew we were in for a good time!
The couple threw an incredible party with lots of fun, dancing, and laughter. It was an honor to be a part of Christine and Billy’s day. We wish them years and years of love, health, and happiness! Another beautiful Clarks Landing Yacht Club Wedding!
