There are some wedding days that feel like a beautiful farewell and a grand beginning all at once. This was absolutely the case for Amanda and Andrew, who gathered their closest family and friends at the elegant Clark’s Landing Yacht Club in Point Pleasant, New Jersey before beginning their new life together in Australia, the groom’s homeland.
The bride’s gown was nothing short of breathtaking. With a form-fitting bodice that flattered her silhouette and intricate leaf and petal appliqués, the dress looked as though it had been crafted directly upon her, made uniquely and exclusively for this very day. The appliqués cascaded gracefully, offering the illusion of delicate foliage and petals resting gently on her skin. Every movement caught the light, revealing new layers of texture and detail. It was the kind of gown that didn’t simply wear beautifully—it told a story of artistry, romance, and intentional design. Standing beside her, the groom looked effortlessly polished, his look complementing the coastal palette and the understated sophistication of the day. Together, they embodied modern elegance with a relaxed, oceanside spirit!
The weather could not have been more perfect: The sun shone brilliantly over the marina, bathing the patio at Clark’s Landing in warm, golden light. As the couple stepped outside onto the waterfront terrace, any lingering nerves seemed to dissolve in the soft breeze and gentle sunshine. With the sea stretching out behind them, we captured some of the most romantic portraits of the day. The interplay of light on the water, the sweep of the bride’s gown, and the way the groom looked at her—all of it came together to create images that felt effortless and deeply genuine. These quiet moments on the patio became a peaceful pause amid the excitement: a chance for the two of them to breathe, take in the view, and reflect on the life they were about to begin together on the other side of the world.
One of the treasures of Clark’s Landing Yacht Club is its interior—warm, refined, and full of character. We took full advantage of the space to create more editorial-style portraits that contrasted beautifully with the bright, outdoor images. Amanda and Andrew settled into rich leather sofas, framed by large windows that overlook the same ocean where they had just posed outside. The reflections of light on the glass, the depth of the furnishings, and the sweeping views beyond created a cinematic quality to these images.
In these frames, the mood shifted slightly—still romantic, but more intimate and contemplative. It was as if time slowed down indoors, allowing us to capture the quieter, more tender sides of their connection.
From the moment guests arrived, the day felt like a love letter to the coast! The air carried a gentle breeze from the marina, the sun danced on the water, and the entire celebration unfolded as a seamless blend of nautical charm and elevated romance. As guests took their seats for the ceremony, they were greeted by an unforgettable sight: floor-to-ceiling windows framing a panoramic view of the water. The brilliant blue sky melted into the ocean, forming the most spectacular natural backdrop as the couple exchanged their vows. There was no need for an elaborate ceremony arch; nature provided her own. Sunlight streamed through the windows, illuminating the couple in a soft, romantic glow as they promised forever in front of the people they love most. The emotion in the room was palpable—joy, gratitude, and a touch of bittersweetness as everyone understood that this day also marked the couple’s farewell before their move to Australia.
From the ceremony, the celebration flowed seamlessly into the opulent ballroom at Clark’s Landing. Guests were welcomed into a space that perfectly reflected the couple’s vision: warm, inviting, and elegantly coastal. Hydrangea arrangements anchored the décor, spilling out of vases in soft clouds of blue and white, grounded by lush greenery. Blue anchor table markers added a charming maritime touch, while gold accents along the tables—chargers, cutlery, candle holders—brought a sense of grandeur and glow. The couple’s entrance as husband and wife was met with a wave of cheers and applause, the room erupting in celebration as they twirled into the ballroom. It was a moment of pure joy, brimming with energy and anticipation for the night ahead!
One of the most endearing details of the reception was waiting at the sweetheart table. While their beloved dog couldn’t be there in person, the couple found the sweetest way to include their furry family member in the festivities: a cardboard cutout standing proudly by their table! As the evening unfolded with heartfelt toasts, lively dancing, and quiet conversations between old friends, the sky outside began to change.
The day that had started in brilliant blue softened into hues of gold, blush, and lavender.
We stepped outside once more with our couple to witness a spectacular sunset over the water. The sky blazed with color, casting a warm glow over the marina and creating a breathtaking, painterly backdrop for their final portraits of the night. There was a beautiful symbolism in that sunset—the close of one chapter and the beginning of another. Soon, they would be boarding a plane to Australia to start their married life together, carrying with them the love, support, and memories of this extraordinary day. What a beautiful way to say goodbye for now to one coast, and hello forever to a new life on another!
