A Wedding Day Retold, A Love Amplified: Alexandra & Christopher’s Felina Wedding!

March 19, 2026

There is something undeniably magical about stepping back into the spaces that shaped us and seeing them through the lens of who we have become. For this editorial-inspired shoot, we set out to reimagine our bride, Alexandra’s, wedding day, beginning not at the venue, but in the place where so many of her dreams first began: her childhood bedroom.

We started with portraits of her standing by the window, the lace of her robe catching the light as she gazed thoughtfully outside. There was a stillness in those frames—a sense of reflection—as though she was looking back on the girl who grew up here and forward to the woman she is now. The photographs are tender and cinematic, capturing that in-between space where memory and anticipation meet.

One of the most emotional parts of the morning was when her mother joined her. They prepared Alexandra’s dress as if for the very first time: fastening buttons, smoothing down fabric, sharing soft smiles. These were not rushed, chaotic “getting ready” moments, but carefully crafted scenes that honored the bond between mother and daughter.

To elevate this simple, familiar setting into something truly unique, we leaned heavily into the use of mirrors. Mirrors became our secret storytelling tool. By positioning them throughout the room, we were able to capture the bride from multiple angles at once—her soft expression in the reflection, the curve of her shoulder in the foreground, the delicate fall of lace trailing behind her. What could have been a straightforward bedroom portrait session transformed into a layered, almost dreamlike narrative. The mirrors allowed us to explore all the different facets of who she is: the daughter, the bride, the woman standing confidently in this in-between moment.

The crisp white of her dress became the perfect canvas for a bold, editorial contrast: a bouquet of bright, true red roses. The intensity of the red against the pure white was striking—classic yet daring. This palette of white and red gave every image a fashion-forward feel, almost like a series pulled from the pages of an editorial spread. That bouquet wasn’t just an accessory; it was a visual anchor that tied together the story of reinvention and romance.

The afternoon and evening belonged to Felina, a remarkable space that has been thoughtfully repurposed from a historic bank into a modern event venue. If the morning in her bedroom was about revisiting her past, Felina was about stepping into a new chapter—still rooted in history, but boldly transformed. Felina is rich with character and texture, from its grand architecture to its unexpected details. One of the most unique features is the actual bank vault, still intact and now reimagined as part of the event space.

Christopher, our groom, harmonized effortlessly with the visual story we’d been building all day. He wore a black and white suit—sharp, classic, and tailored—paired with a single red rose in his lapel. That small but powerful pop of red mirrored the roses in his wife’s bouquet, creating a beautiful visual echo every time they stood together. Black, white, and red became the through-line: bold, romantic, and undeniably editorial.

Felina offered an incredible variety of spaces, each one adding something new to the visual narrative. Outdoors, we used the exterior architecture as a backdrop—strong lines, textured surfaces, and natural light working together to frame the couple in a way that felt both cinematic and intimate. Inside, the venue transformed into a playground of possibilities. Sweeping stairways created opportunities for grand, dramatic compositions, with the bride’s dress trailing elegantly behind her and her groom waiting just a few steps below. Archways framed them like moving portraits, giving a subtle nod to old-world romance. The lighting shifted from soft and airy in some spaces to moody and dramatic in others, allowing us to experiment with a range of tones and emotions throughout the day.

Every corner of Felina seemed to balance modern elegance with a gentle nod to an older sophistication. Sleek lines and contemporary finishes blended seamlessly with historical architectural elements, mirroring the couple’s own style: refined, fashion-forward, but deeply rooted in timeless romance. As we moved from room to room—from the vault to the stairways, from open spaces to more intimate nooks—it felt like we were walking through different chapters of the same story.

By the end of the day, one theme was undeniably clear: reinvention. We reimagined a wedding day as something that could begin in the quiet nostalgia of a childhood bedroom and unfold into the bold, sophisticated atmosphere of a reinvented bank-turned-venue. We played with reflections, contrasts, and unexpected spaces, all while staying true to the timeless emotions at the heart of a wedding day. It was a love letter to the idea that your story doesn’t have to follow a traditional script. You can honor where you’ve come from while fully embracing where you’re going. And when those threads come together—lace and mirrors, vaults and stairways, red roses and crisp white silk—the result is a visual narrative that feels both deeply personal and effortlessly editorial.
