Jersey Shore in early May is when the boardwalk is just waking up for the season: the breeze still has a hint of spring chill, and the sky can’t quite decide if it wants to behave. That was exactly the mood the morning of Mary and Austin’s incredible wedding at Clarks Landing Yacht Club in Point Pleasant, New Jersey — a day that flirted with thunderstorms but ultimately decided it didn’t want to rain on our couple’s proverbial parade.

From start to finish, the entire celebration unfolded at Clarks Landing, which meant the day flowed effortlessly from quiet anticipation to full-on dance floor euphoria. With the Manasquan River as a backdrop and the promise of summer in the air, this wedding was pure Jersey Shore coastal chic with, as our bride coined it, just the right dash of Sopranos energy.

The design of the day was a love letter to the shore. Sea shells adorned the details, from the elegant place cards to subtle decor touches, while ocean blues threaded their way through ribbons, florals, and linens. Mary’s hyacinth bouquet, in rich shades of blue, stood out beautifully against her classic white gown.

Black and white elements grounded the palette with a timeless edge: Austin’s sharp black tuxedo, crisp white and of course, the bride’s dress itself. It felt like the perfect marriage of seaside romance and sophisticated style — think Riviera chic, but with a distinctly Jersey Shore soul.

And yes, with a dash of Sopranos. The vibe wasn’t “back room of the Bada Bing” so much as “if Carmela planned a tasteful waterfront wedding.” Elegant, glamorous, but with enough personality that you just knew this crew knows how to have a good time.

One of our favorite parts of the day was the first look. Austin was a bundle of anticipation in the best way — the kind of nervous excitement that can only come from knowing you’re about to see the love of your life walk toward you in a wedding gown for the very first time. You could see it in the way he shifted his weight, the way he smiled every time someone mentioned her name, the way he took a deep breath just before turning around. When he finally saw Mary, he was immediately overcome with emotion. His face said everything: shock, joy, awe, and that quiet realization of, “This is it. This is my person.”

In that moment, the gray clouds hanging over the water only made it more cinematic. It felt less like a threat of storms and more like the sky dimmed the lights just so the spotlight could fall directly on the two of them.

All day long, the skyline teased thunderstorms. Dark clouds rolled in, the wind picked up, and the water took on a deeper, moodier tone. Instead of dampening the mood, the weather somehow amplified the good kind of drama — the intense love this couple so clearly shares. It was as if the sky was in on the theme, holding the rain at bay just long enough for the portraits, the emotional first look, and the outdoor ceremony. The darkened water echoed the tones in the bride’s hyacinth bouquet, tying the scene together in a way only nature can. We joked that Mother Nature must have been on the guest list — she matched the color palette perfectly.

There was something almost protective about it all. The storms hovered, threatened, and grumbled in the distance, but never quite crossed the line. It felt like the day itself refused to interrupt their joy.

The ceremony was held overlooking the water, with guests wrapped in that soft pre-storm light you only get on moody coastal days. As the couple exchanged vows, the space filled with a beautiful blend of laughter and tears. They shared personal promises that had everyone grinning one minute and wiping away tears the next. Inside jokes, quiet acknowledgments of the roads that led them here, and heartfelt words about the future they’re building together — it was honest, emotional, and so them.

By the time they were pronounced husband and wife, the room buzzed with genuine joy. You could feel it in the applause, in the cheers, and in the way their families looked at each other with that “we just became officially related” kind of smile.

The reception space at Clarks Landing glowed. Chandeliers cast a warm, welcoming light over tables adorned with fresh flowers and seashell accents. Each place setting felt thoughtfully considered, with delicate shell details adding just the right touch of coastal charm. Champagne flutes garnished with strawberries caught the light as guests raised their glasses to toast the newly minted Mr. and Mrs. The combination of sparkling glass, soft candlelight, and the river just beyond the windows created an atmosphere that was both luxurious and inviting.

The dance floor filled quickly, and it became clear that this was a group who knew how to celebrate. From emotional first dances to joyful, packed dance songs, the evening unfolded seamlessly — no drama, no stress, just pure, unfiltered fun.

One of the standout details of the night was the wedding cake. In a beautiful nod to her Italian heritage, Mary chose a tiramisu cake instead of a traditional tiered wedding cake. It was a spectacular choice — rich, elegant, and wonderfully personal. It felt like the perfect finale: a classic Italian dessert reimagined for a modern coastal wedding, much like the day itself blended timeless romance with contemporary style.

We couldn’t help but imagine certain fictional New Jersey families approving wholeheartedly of the menu choice — and for once, everyone at a Sopranos-adjacent celebration got to enjoy dessert without anyone needing to “go for a ride.”

As the evening went on, the storms finally moved in, but by then everyone was safely inside, warm with champagne, good music, and better company. The night was seamless, joyous, and full of the kind of memories that linger long after the last song. From the moody skies that somehow made everything feel more romantic, to the coastal chic details, to the emotional first look and that unforgettable tiramisu cake, this Clarks Landing Yacht Club wedding was the best kind of Jersey Shore story: stylish, heartfelt, a little dramatic in all the right ways, and filled with unwavering love.

And in the end, no one needed concrete shoes, a sit-down, or a phone call from a back room to make the night memorable — just a couple wildly in love, their favorite people, and a perfect day on the water.
