Mid-May is the kind of month that feels made for weddings—warm, bright, and full of possibility. On this particular day, that sense of promise was on full display as family and friends gathered to celebrate Callie and John’s timeless, black-and-white wedding that blended classic elegance with the deep beauty of Greek Orthodox tradition.
From the very first moments of the day, it was clear that our couple had chosen a look that would never go out of style. The entire aesthetic was rooted in a classic black-and-white palette—crisp, clean, and sophisticated. Callie wore a brilliant white sweetheart sheath gown that skimmed her figure with understated grace. The dress parted at the hip on both sides, adding a touch of movement and modernity as she walked. A long, flowing veil trailed behind her, catching the light and adding an ethereal softness to her silhouette. She completed her look with a simple string of pearls and a bouquet of white roses accented with fresh greenery—elegant, intentional, and effortlessly timeless. John’s style perfectly matched the day’s refined aesthetic. Channeling a sleek, James Bond–inspired look, he wore a classic black and white suit paired with a bow tie. The heart of the day unfolded at St. George’s, where the couple took part in a traditional Greek Orthodox wedding ceremony. Greek Orthodox weddings are rich with symbolism, history, and faith, and this ceremony was no exception. One of the most significant and moving moments was The Crowning. The priest placed delicate crowns—connected by a ribbon to symbolize unity—on the heads of the bride and groom. The maid of honor and best man gently exchanged the crowns back and forth over the couple’s heads, signifying the moment they were cemented as the “king and queen” of their new household. This ritual is more than just a beautiful visual; it represents honor, responsibility, and the sacred bond of marriage. As the crowns were exchanged, scripture was read, and our couple drank from a single cup of wine three times. Sharing from the same cup is a powerful symbol of their shared life: joys and struggles, blessings and challenges, all faced together from this day forward.
Another deeply meaningful tradition was the Ceremonial Walk. Led by the priest, the Callie, John and members of their bridal party walked around the altar three times. These steps represent their very first as husband and wife and serve as a reminder that they walk hand in hand not only with each other, but with God at the center of their marriage. Watching these traditions unfold is like watching history come to life. It served as the getting-ready location, the backdrop for most of the Callie and John’s portraits, and later, the lively reception space where everyone would dance the night away. Clarks’ Landing offered elegant settings that beautifully complemented the couple’s black-and-white theme. Against these timeless backdrops, the newlyweds simply glowed! Their portraits were filled with grins that stretched from ear to ear, stolen glances that said everything without a word, and embraces that made it clear just how deeply they adored one another.
In between more serious, composed poses, Callie and John couldn’t help but break out into laughter and impromptu little dances. Those candid moments—her veil swirling around them, his arm wrapped protectively and lovingly around her waist—felt like tiny windows into who they are together: joyful, in love, and so excited to begin their life as a married couple.

Even though their pups couldn’t be there in person, they were absolutely present in spirit. Callie and John created signature drinks named after their dogs, a playful and heartfelt nod that guests loved. They also set up a charming “paw bar” treat station—a themed display of goodies meant for the furry friends waiting at home, a reminder that love extends beyond the walls of the venue. To deepen that sentiment even further, the couple made a donation to a local animal shelter.
